JAPANESE CANDY ART

Amezaiku
Amezaiku is a traditional Japanese art dating back to the 8th century. It consists in sculpting sugar into various animal or plants shapes.
Originating from China, this art took its full meaning in the street, during festivals, with the sweets being made in front of passers-by.
The Amezaiku is gradually disappearing, with less than 100 craftsmen practicing it in the world,, and Claire-Line is its only representative in Europe.
With the sweet taste of candy and the appearance of a glass sculpture, these lollipops are made by taking a ball of sugar syrup at 90°C and shaped by hand and with Japanese scissors. These candies have to be sculpted within a few minutes, before they cool down!
